Clay Dunning is the 2007-2008 President of the Los Angeles Chapter of IFMA.
He was a member of the board of directors in 2006-2007 and has organized and moderated IFMA LA’s successful Corporate Real Estate Strategy Conference for the past five years.
Clay is Founder and President of Sierra Commercial, a real estate and facility services company.
He is an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience managing and leasing commercial and corporate real estate and facilities. He has been responsible for management of some of the most prominent office buildings in the US including ARCO Plaza (now City National Plaza) in Los Angeles, Quaker Tower in Chicago, (former) ITT Word Headquarters in New York and has provided facility management, project management and other facility services to an array of notable clients.
Clay has negotiated hundreds of leases encompassing millions of square feet of space throughout the US and Western Canada.
He has been a State and Federal Court Receiver handling such complex receiverships as Ernst and Young Plaza (formerly Citicorp Center), in downtown Los Angeles.
He is the immediate past President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and continues to serve on the Executive Council and on the Governing Council of the International Association. He is a former board member of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater Los Angeles (BOMA). In 2006 he was elected to Lambda Alpha International (LAI), an honorary society for the advancement of land economics.
Clay teaches Fundamentals of Commercial Real Estate at UCLA Extension at its Westwood Campus.
He has four children, two sons and two daughters. His interests outside or work include cycling, hiking, skiing, reading and poetry.

Chris Spry - Chapter Treasurer Chris Spry, Manager of Administrative Services for the Tactical Systems Division of Northrop Grumman has been in the Facilities Management profession for over 25 years.
Chris has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University and he is a registered architect in the states of California and Florida. Prior to working in the Facilities Management field, he worked in both architectural and interior planning and design firms in Los Angeles, Hollywood, FL and Pittsburgh, PA.
Chris joined TRW in 1979 as a space planner and worked up through that corporation to his current title. TRW was purchased by Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2002 and he has continued in his position with the new corporation to date. Day to day responsibilities include the direct facilities and services management of a five building campus in Carson, CA, two buildings in Redondo Beach and remote administrative management of five smaller tenant suites in other U. S. geographic locations.
Chris joined IFMA in 1985 through the encouragement of one of his mentors at TRW, Art Hahn, a former Chapter, Regional and National President of IFMA in the 1980s. Chris has served in various positions in the Los Angeles chapter including Vice President, Program Chair, Special Events Chair, Hospitality Chair, and three terms as Chapter Treasurer(current). Three years ago he was voted the Chapter Facility Manager of the Year.
In addition, he has been a part of two IFMA International Committees Benchmarking and Salary Metrics. Chris was a co-instructor for the college level course, “Architectural Systems for Facility Managers” at Woodbury University in Burbank, CA.

Mike Dannenberg - Chapter Secretary
The Chapter's new secretary, Mike Dannenberg, has already been working steadily to bring the chapter new and exciting graphics and presentations at meetings and events.
Mike is a Senior Consultant for VantageTechnology Consulting Group, and is sharing his technical skills and artistic aesthetic gained in his theater equipment days to work for the chapter, not only as the Secretary, but also as the Communications Chairperson. He is working with the team redesigning the website and hoping to develop more ways for the membership to be interactive on the web.
Born and educated in California, he chose Cal Poly Pomona for his Mechanical Engineering degree and currently lives close by in Rancho Cucamonga. Audiovisual consultation has become his love after his wife and 9 year old son.
A member of the LA Chapter of IFMA for over a year, he is actively pursuing environmentally friendly ways technology can help our lives and is seeking his LEED-NC certification.
He hopes his unique insight and energy can bring inspiration for new ideas and activities for the chapter and he's happy to share his knowledge and experience with those who need it. He welcomes anyone interested in helping with the website, articles, and projects of interest to the group. |
