Director of Facilities
Salary: $70,000 to $85,000 plus 20% Bonus
Company
The company is a leading money remittance service provider headquartered in Los Angeles County, providing international money transfer services to Mexico as well as throughout Latin America. The company is privately owned and operates through a network of thousands of agents in 48 states in the United States. Money transfers are paid through a network of over one thousand exclusive agents located throughout Mexico, as well as through thousands of affiliated banking and other locations in Mexico and in the rest of Latin America, including Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Argentina. The company is poised to launch several new financial services oriented to the Hispanic community.
Reporting Relationship
This executive will report to the Chief Administrative Officer. This individual will have two Supervisors as direct reports and a total management responsibility for approximately 13 to 15 team members in multiple locations.
Primary Function
Direct and manage all facility operations for The Company. Oversee facility infrastructure, building systems and services, safety and security programs, reception, warehouse, building maintenance and modifications, building operations policy and procedures, facility planning, and management of area staff. To include Strategic Facilities Planning and Implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communication
Must be bilingual English / Spanish.
Oversee Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse
Oversee distribution of incoming shipments and mail deliveries within the facility.
Administer Safety Program
- Oversee safety and ergonomic systems and protocols.
- Chair the facility safety committee. Utilize the committee and advise the company on safety issues and develop plans, procedures, and policies for ensuring safe and compliant practices.
- Coordinate and conduct periodic building wide safety inspections for compliance with all safety, regulatory and operating policy requirements.
Administer Facility Maintenance Program
Oversee maintenance and preventative maintenance of building systems HVAC, electricity, and water. Manage internal maintenance personnel and external maintenance contractors. Coordinate service contracts with outside vendors for maintenance of building systems such as HVAC, security and alarm systems.
Develop and maintain management control systems
Develop and maintain facility policies and procedures for all facilities operations, including an overall operating plan, pre-operational safety and environmental reviews for use of facility, safety and environmental policy and procedures.
Oversee Equipment Installations and Building Modifications
- Direct all installations of equipment in all facilities.
- Coordinate building systems planning and design to accommodate equipment installation. Oversee building and building system modifications.
- Coordinate building system interruptions to minimize impact and assure integrity of operations. Update operating and safety policies to reflect modifications.
- Develop guidelines, planning outlines, and descriptions of facility layouts to provide future occupants to assist them in planning the move of their operations into the facility.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain security access system for the facility. Coordinate facility activities in public spaces, reception, conference rooms, and dining areas as needed.
Develop the procedures and protocols required to implement the proposed management and safety plans.
Develop Standard Operating Policies and Procedures and administer all operations in accordance with OSHA, ADA and other specified legal requirements.
Develop and recommend administrative operating plans, policies, procedures, and communications, including those for:
- Inventory, shipping, and receiving.
- Security and key distribution.
- Custodial functions.
- Vendor repair visits.
- Safety training and re-training tracking and reporting.
- Space allocation procedures, including identification of any safety, ergonomic or environmental issues related to space requests.
Administer Financial Operation
Manage facility budget.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree is desirable but not required.
- At least seven years experience managing comparable facilities operations.
- Direct experience with environmental compliance, and industrial type safety programs.
- Effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Must possess effective personal interaction, facilitation, group leadership, analytical/problem solving, and facility management skills.
Required Abilities
- Must be physically able to lift materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to handle and work proficiently with common hand and power tools, screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches and hammers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers.
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
Compensation
Base salary plus bonus based on personal and company performance as well as benefits.
