Manager, Biomedical Engineering (Req. #50596)
The Biomedical Engineering Manager reviews, researches and negotiates equipment service contracts for City of Hope Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute then determines most appropriate and cost-effective maintenance strategies for equipment, e.g. in-house support, direct contract, or time and material. The Manager also guides, coordinates and provides administrative and technical direction of departmental activities. The person in this role must continue to seek innovative methods to manage service contracts across the organization. We are looking for an individual with strong negotiating skills, analytical skills, organization skills, information research skills and the ability to prioritize and supervise. Must have a high level of integrity, honesty and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in biomedical engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum experience: technical knowledge such as acquired through 3-5 years in biomedical equipment related positions, including managing BIS equipment maintenance contracts. Contract administration and/or accounting experience preferred; valid CA drivers license.
